2008 Entrex PCI Challenge Launched!  Private Companies Invited to Compare Growth with Major Indices

CEOs given unique and confidential opportunity to compare their company’s revenue growth performance with the PCI, Dow, Nasdaq and S&P Small Cap 600.

Chicago, IL – Aug. 7, 2008 – According to the Entrex Private Company Index (PCI), revenues are up 6% YTD for businesses in the $1M - $250M sector of North American private companies.

Many private companies grew at or above this modest YTD performance of the Index, but they shouldn’t be misled by this relatively low figure.

The PCI, now in its fourth consecutive year, is hovering near its high reached May 2008—representing a 145% increase in the overall revenue performance of the PCI since its inception.  Historically, this diverse group of companies has consistently positive annual growth.  2006 recognized a 50% year over year increase while 2007 marked a slightly smaller 31% jump.

How does your company’s performance compare to others in the private sector?

You can simply and confidentially compare your company’s revenue growth with the North American PCI portfolio’s growth.  This is available online at the Entrex PCI website (www.privatecompanyindex.com). To date this tool has received attention from national media publications and private company participants nationwide.

Entrex CEO, Stephen H. Watkins, says “This opportunity for comparison to both the PCI and capital markets trend lines is really striking a nerve with company leaders.”

“It’s a win-win situation. The inquisitive CEO gets an objective measurement of their company’s revenue performance assessing their growth alongside the PCI and other standard measures accepted by the financial industry.  The PCI benefits because the information collected, boosts our research and statistical data base.”

The PCI relies on the voluntary submission of monthly private company gross revenues and the interests of CEOs to supply this information.  Companies gain initial exposure to the capital markets and national media by participating in this North America-wide index.  Participation is free of charge.  There is no obligation to apply for membership to utilize the PCI Challenge tool.
